There will not be an update to the Converter.
Preview files will be improved in Version Upgrade 4.0

This is very disappointing news. Nothing like spending a lot of money to lose a capability.
Preview Converter has its place- exceptionally fast JPEGs convertsion, particularly useful onsite for clients running off who need FP0s. That was my plan on a shoot last weeek with my P30+ and suddenly it didn't work.
Please Phase, don't drop the ball. And when functionality is taken away with an upgrade, why must users have to discover this under pressure and deadline, rather than have Phase release a statement beforehand? Did I miss a timely and responsible alert sent out to the Phase One community?

    John,

    You will Lose Nothing.
The Preview Converter was a morsel of what is to come in version 4.0 and Developers were able to provide it early to customers.
This converter stems from the process engine technology that is fast, very fast, much more so than the QuickProof.
The speed of 4.0 will be at least 300% faster with Preview creation and Processing.
So you will have your Converter and then some, because image adjustments and color management capabilities will now be applied.
4.0 LE will arrive first and be available to you and will support Phase One RAW files.

    Cheers,
    K C

    Keith,
This sounds great but where is Version 4? Wasn't its release date supposed to be 1st Quarter '07?
I'll be happy to have quick previews in V4, but meanwhile I'm stuck with no Preview Converter. Most of us MFDB owners who have been in the game for a while are very wary of promises, while happy to acknowledge good results- when the product is actually released and in our hands.
Meanwhile, as V4 is so delayed, why not update Preview Converter to work with Plus backs? How much effort could it take? We're talking acknowledged lo-rez preview files for FPOs only.

I am very disappointed that I can't get optimum quality from my P45+ back. The new Lightroom upgrade doesn't support plus files (not the fault of Phase, I know) and capture one 4.0 is nowhere in site. I have files with huge dynamic range that I can't take advantage of without multiple processing of the same RAW file and time consuming blending in Photoshop to get my shadow and highlight detail that the back has captured!! I've heard that capture one 4.0 with have an HDR feature but that's not available, nor is Lightroom, which can handle high dynamic range files (but not plus files).

This is not fair to the folks who spend big bucks on phase backs and not have the necessary software to process the advantages they offer. I've getting tired of waiting and waiting for promised software from Phase that never seems to be on the horizon. Eleanor

The new LightRoom released yesterday IS supporting my P30+ files- as long as they're files not previously imported into Lightroom. They're tagged in some ways that Lightroom reads. However I imported recently shot P30+ photos last night into Lightroom that worked fine.
My guess is this will work for your P45+ as well.

Unfortunately, my new 45+ files aren't working in Lightroom 1.1. Eleanor
