I don't want to distract from the main purpose of the thread but I am fascinated to understand why it would be useful to shoot sRAW always having paid for a full RAW capable body.

Am I missing some subtlety of image quality somewhere?

Is there a particular situation for which this makes unquestionable sense?

Looking to learn here if anyone can assist.

    Thanks.

Smaller files > faster workflow > less disk space > more shoots on a card
When you know up front that you do not need the max. size of full raw.

Be aware that some features like lens profiles and lens correction are not supported in reduced raw formats.

    Paul,

Yep, I can see the potential for using the smaller formats from time to time mixed with full size RAW on a shoot and so on. But the poster yesterday (post 2 on the thread) wrote:

Taken at face value the "always" suggests mRAW and full RAW are not used and that is what raised my interest.

It is likely that the meaning is different of course - maybe "I nearly always shoot sRAW at some point in a shoot" or something like that But if it really does mean "I always shoot sRAW and nothing else" then I would love to understand the thinking behind that.
