C1Pv5(.0.1) and .PEF raw files from Pentax Kx
well, I got myself Kx today and immediately run some .PEF raw files (note - not in-camera .DNG that Pentax can do) through C1Pv5(.0.1) - and to my surprise "Lens Correction" module does not have generic "purple fringing" and "chromatic aberration" enabled ?
I went back to my .PEF raw files from Pentax K20D and Pentax *istDL - there those options are enabled... what is wrong ? Is Kx support in some "beta" stage (it is supported based on what is written by P1 itself - "...Pentax: K20D, K10D, K7, KX, K200D, K110D, K100D Super, K100D, K2000/K-m, *istDL2, *istDL, *istD, *istDS2, *istDS (Only PEF files supported)...") or P1 decided to disable something that w/ new cameras somehow ? or it is like a Panasonic .RW2 and .DNG generation story recently where somebody does not give some permissiond to somebody and as a result P1 can do only crippled processing now with .PEF files too (yet another conspiracy !) ?
also - I did not use a NR a lot in C1 w/ high ISO shots because Pentax did not have good high ISO capability before and I was leaving all NR to photoshop w/ specialized plugins, but now that Kx can do good ISO 6400/12800 shots (thx, Sony - good sensor indeed) I revisited briefly what do we have in that department... well (rather not well)... it seems that C1 not only does worse than LR3 Beta, it actually can't beat ACR5.6RC... it seems that C1 should be put in the department of ISO100/200 and below 100 shots only nowadays... which is of course where our dear MF shooters are happily living... how unfortunate 😭 ... we hear a lot of complaints about UI and how does that affect workflow performance... true that is... but let us (rather P1) not forget the core values, huh ?
