    Marc,

Since many are capturing RAW + JPEG these days, it can get confusing upon first look at loaded images.
Capture One will browse JPEGs, but no alteration is possible.
Only RAW image files can be edited.

KC, thanks for the fast reply.

I do not shoot raw+jpeg, only one at the time.
CO4 does not display jpegs unless they have been edited by Photoshop.
Most of my pictures are by a Canon10D, the newer ones are shot with a 40D.

My suspicion is that it has something to do with the EXIF/IPTC info, or maybe it is a videocard issue? I'm running Vista.

I now also see that when I close CO4 I get an error: a pop-up titled "ImgCoreSocket error"says that WSAStartup has failed. Maybe this helps.

    Regards,
    Marc

    Marc,

ALL JPEGs show in Capture One 4

Images should be downloaded directly to HD or Use the Import tool without using any other program to handle files.
Install location must be to local C: and you must have full admin privileges.
Image locations you must have full read/write permissions.

If you still have errors and problems, you need to submit a Support Case with all details of system, workflow, and include screenshots of errors.

Some of my Canon CR2 files are showing in the thumbnail view with an eye in the bottom right corner. These files will not show in main view, it just says "Loading..." in the middle of the view. The files are not corrupt, the work perfect in C1 3.7.4.

Other CR2 files from the same batch work perfectly, so I'm really confused about this problem.
    😕

I have tried to delete the cache files with no effect.

How many images do you have in the source folder? I noticed that in one folder with over 1600 CR2 files, the selected image would not display but only show "loading."

The folder has about 850 shots, but it is only about 10-15 shots that has the loading problem, the rest works perfectly...

I haven't noticed the problem in other folders, so I hope it's an isolated problem. I have converted the pictures with C1 3.7.4...

I have not found a way to clear/re-read the cache to get rid of any read problems, is there a way to do that?

    I made a formal support case and I got a reply quite fast. The answer gave me a clue to the cause;

    read-only files do not display.

When I remove the read-only flag all files display ok.

I asked support if this is regular behavior, I'll keep you posted.
