Why have separate forums for Mac and Windows
Does anyone have any logic as to why PhaseOne decided to have separate forums for Mac & Windows posts? I understand that the software has identical functionality apart from os specific needs so surely posts in either forum would be of interest to both camps. Similarly I’d go as far as saying if each post asked for os and even capture one version you could combine all posts in one forum.
I’m still on version 9 on a Mac but I still check the two v10 and the two v11 forums as they might well be of interest to me.

They used to be one forum but it proved confusing so they were separated by request.
The idea of offering to indicate which OS you use is great but not so good if the info is in the first post but nowhere near page 3, for example.
Also if you look at the "Workflow and Common Photography Exploration" forum, which is not split out and does ask for the OS and config info to be provided you will notice that it does not always happen.
One major difference, of course, is that Mac users have access to Applescript and Windows users do not. This may well influence the replies to a question in a way that may be meaningful to Mac users but confusing to Windows users who are not aware of the particular difference between ecosystems.
There are also enough differences in the UI and a few other features and functions that separation still proves useful IMO.
HTH.

Thanks Grant.
You make some good points. Re the os and version I was thinking that they could be required drop down options as part of the post. You are right in that the AppleScript feature does appear quite often but it’s obviously no use to windows users.
