Capture One vs Adobe White Balance
I have come across this odd anomaly between Capture One and Adobe Camera Raw: The temperature of a picture in both Capture One and Nikon ViewNX-i is shown as being 5950. In ACR it shows as 6050, and the same is true in Luminar. I am not an expert, but if these programs are reading the same EXIF files, any difference is surprising. The shot was taken on a D850.

I believe 3rd party software companies have some degree of reverse engineering they have to do in regards to the RAW conversion process because Nikon is not exactly forthcoming with all of their technical information, such as White Balance, hence the slight discrepancy between programs. If you open a NEF in Nikon software you can expect it to look just as it does in the camera with all of the same settings. If you open it in CO or Adobe you will find different WB settings and slightly different overall appearances. 0 -
Thanks for the insight!
