Color Management - again!

A basic question - what exactly is seen in previews when the Color Management tab is switched off? (Incidentally, no mention of the 'Color Management' tab in the help file - Chapter 2 Tools Reference.)
In LE, if the destination space is set to a printer profile, is this a kind of 'pseudo' soft-proofing?
Is 'proper' soft-proofing only available in Pro?
Will there be soft-proofing in v4.0 LE?

  Well, there is a profile because color has to be defined.
  You'll see at the Exposure tab that the left display is RAW RGB
  With the color management OFF it uses this default for display.
  
  Whatever is set for the Destination ( working space) is what the images will be displayed in... so yes it is soft proofing and showing what color will be based on the printer profile. Do Not process with a printer profile set to embed.
  
  Not exactly sure how color will work in 4.0, but since Mac and Windows will become one, there will likely be a Proof Profile setting to establish.

  One final question. If viewing with the destination as the printer profile to do soft-proofing, what is different with the soft-proofing that happens in C1 PRO listed as a separate feature?
  Also, is it possible to install the trial of PRO with my LE already installed?

  The Destination(Working Space) setting is equal in LE and PRO for the Windows platform.
  Mac with its color sync utility and a specific Proof Setting for Capture One just seems to do a better job in general. We do know that Vista has greatly improved color management
  and that 4.0 will merge Mac capabilities with Windows.
  
  Yes, you can install PRO on machine with LE
  The Color Editor of PRO will allow adjustment of a camera profile to your liking, and can also be used to replace color or very specifically adjust color on an image, save a file, and apply to an entire Session.

  Keith I've been running my C1 LE on Vista for some months now from Beta2 through to the current RC2. Where would I see the improvement you mention?

  I believe that Keith means that Vista has better color profile support over XP. So the improved soft proofing features offered by the Mac OS version of Capture One Pro will be ported to the Windows version starting with 4.0 (which is supposed to match the Mac OS version feature-for-feature).
  
  You will not see any difference between running Capture One 3.7 on XP vs. Vista because there is no code in the current version to take advantage of the improved profile support in Vista.
