So I purchased the PRO version
after tax still £350 quid from an upgrade of LE. Now I still cannot believe I did it, but FOCUS pointed me to a few items i loved and i must say the tool is very photorapher friendly. Lightroom and Aperture and all the others talk about being the photographers dream but something about C1 PRO jsut did it for me.
That said I am a bit of a photoshop demi god compared to most photographers so i think that is praise for C1 PRO. There is jsut something so nice and simple about it. The speach by Walter at FOCUS convinced me to use it with my Nikon 2DX and D200.
I would love to know if there is any resources around use of the product in the creative sense. I know the basics now after one weekend but must confess could only get the colourpicker to change the image slightly, I was imaginging i could get pastel blue skies darker etc, but changes seem only subtle, is this correct ?
Anyway now I am a proud owner and still chocking at the cost, this is the only non phaseone resource I could find for creativity. Can anyone else share ??

I appreciate we all want to be different and in fact need to be but a basic creative start is what i was looking for. I took the 70's effect and made it more sinister, but wondered what other ideas people had for styles or profles ??
thanks to all and thanks to phaseone for making a cool tool, looking forward to the lightning fast V4 in June 07.

Wow, I knew the creativity was personal and that photographers like to keep their secrets but wow., not a single thought or comments, perhaps I have found a loop in the system and an opening.
I know that Photoshop has everyman and his dog writing add ons, plugins, filters etc, so does C1 PRo need this approach ???
Wlater at Focus talked about a training course he was putting together with a few add ons to C1 PRO.
Anyone else ????
Am I along in my request for knowledge and sharing ? Or is the PhaseOne back so great no comment is the answer 😊
ook bring on the no comments, at least i will get excited when i look at th page and see it has more updates and replies ;-0

blakey,
I'll offer my perspective on this topic...
Seems to me that asking a question such as this equates asking Artists what they would paint if given a blank canvas...
Or maybe like asking participants at a Chili-cook-off what they did to get the final result... some of it may be a secret and some may truly be unknown 🤓
The potential of the Styles tool capabilities is endless and boundless.
I know folks are willing to offer advice on this Forum, so I'm thinking that
the P-series forum may be more appropriate for this topic. Seems that the fashion and digital back shooters are the ones utilizing the Styles tool.
I was actually waiting to see input here too because I know there is a lot of creativity out there.
Cheers,

interesting take keith. I had not thought of that.
I will re-ask on the P series forum as i also felt the MAC OS is a little specific, there was some discussions on the PC forum, but a good idea. Thanks again.

Hello Blakey,
In our Digital Workshops featuring C1Pro we cover styles extensively.
One of the more unique looks we've been playing with is "Lith-look"
This gives the appearance of the B&W Lith printing process.
This look is best achieved by using very flat lighting with very few high lights.
The rest is done with the styles settings in C1Pro.
While I have seen this done in P.S. CS2 the over all quality in C1Pro give greater flexibility is faster then P.S.

James this is great to know, i just need to get to New York to learn. Is there anywhere you guys share these resources, I do get to NYC every so often but i guess the chances of me being there during a workshop are limited.
Thanks for your input, you have me hankering for more now:-)0 -
Hello Blakey,
Having looked further than the forums page I see your in the U.K.
About 17% of our site visitors are from there.
Your Digital Workshops are held Bi-Monthly in NYC,
http://www.photoassistant.net/workshops_NYCmay2007.htm
and beginning with April we will be in San Francisco, and other major cities around the United States.
Currently we are the only group in the U.S. offering this comprehensive two day Digital Workshop featuring Phase One's C1 Pro.
You can find more details regarding these workshops on www.PhotoAssistant.Net
We are also producing a series of streaming media tutorials for the web site as time allows.
