Move originals from within a catalogue to outside catalogue?
Hello,
I was just wondering: is it possible to move the originals from an existing catalogue, to a location outside of the catalogue file, but keeping all settings and adjustments? I accidentally chose to import the originals when I created a catalogue, but that way the catalogue's size is way too big. I keep my originals on an external drive that I only connect when I work on a catalogue.
Thanks
Chris

Yes, can be done.
How? From the top of my head (that means try it with a test catalog):
In Library > Folders section > add a folder (your destination folder)
Next, in Library > Folders section > select the Catalog object. This will show all images INSIDE the catalog.
Next, select the images in the browser you like to be outside, a.k.a. referenced.
Next, move the selected images to the destination folder you added in the first step.
Test before you do.
Note: the other way around works too!0 -

Thanks, I had figured out a similar approach, just wasn't sure, so I'll give this a try.
