Is no one able to chime in? From what little I saw on the web, with Express you can only export in the same file format as the original image...that would mean I can't edit a RAW and export to TIFF in Express?

You can export a raw file or a selectoon of files to TIFF, JPEG, PSD and some more formats. Action is File menu > Export > Variants.

Some tips to try the software when your trial period has expired:
    - run it as CO DB 7 and download some sample files from Phase One site
    - update to latest version; the trial counter is sometimes reset between uodates

I just bought (upgraded) to Capture 1 Express V7 latest upgrade.
I still have the V6 fully operational.

With V7, I can export the original file, but not the variant. (my retouched photo?)

Windows 8, 64 bit laptop. trying to export jpg file 100% quality.
Original RAW files that I have tried are from Nikon D600, Canon 5DII and NEX-7,
resulting all in identical problem. (Error Output Processing File .... )

My version 6 still works. But with V7, I always get this error. Original files export with no problems.
I'm trying to export jpg file 100% quality.

    Please advise any suggestions.

Not sure whether there is more information in the error dialog that might give a clue.

Tip: check whether you have set an output location.

Yes, I have done that. Yesterday I was importing from a USB3 HD to a new folder in the same drive, as well as exporting to another new folder in the USB3 HD.

Today I tried the main HD on the laptop, for all these new folders.

Exporting the file starts, but stays at 0%, until I stop the exporting action.

Another point is that, today 2 alerts (while retouching NEX-7 raw files) showed up in Chinese??. Could'nt copy paste and translate, but I got the screens saved. I assumed that there may be sone virus activity, or else something coming from Sony files in Japanese or whatever.

I wonder if anyone had the same experience.

Meanwhile my CO Express V6 is still working without any problems whatsoever. Can these co-exist on the same computer?

And here are the Chinese alerts.

Is there any other information that I can send that may be helpful?

It's known, and will be taken care of in a future release. Nothing to worry about 😊

Thanks for the error message information.

But I still can't export jpg files. My export directory is existing.
Here is the screen view. Can you pls advise what I'm doing wrong.
    Isn't the source selected already?

Here I was trying to export 2 photos, seen selected in the screen.

NOTE: I can export the Originals to the same folder w/o problems. If I work on a jpg, I can export it as a jpg as well, the only thing that does not work is working on RAW, and trying to export it as a jpg or TIFF.

I'm not familiar with Express but just a thought here ...

V7 Express means you are running with a Catalog. Is your RAW file IN the catalog or was it left as an external file?

If external is it actually available to the process?

Just a guess for something to check based on the message and your description. Probably a wildly wrong guess of course, but something to eliminate from the investigation.

    Thanks.

File is in the catalog. But I tried also files from folders etc.

The problem is that my software exports original file with no problems,
it also exports JPG file as a retouched JPG file.

It just can not convert and export a RAW file as jpg or Tiff. I think the problem is in the conversion stage of exporting.

My Laptop is fairly capable to do all these without problems, no space problems with 2 internal and 2 external drives, but W8 may be a problem,

    Thanks again, Seyhun
