Best thing to do is create a support case and provide us with the two profiles for testing.

Hi all again. I have a printing problem which I aired in an earlier thread which I would like to update to see if any of you kind folks could come up with an answer for me. I'm on a Mac using 10.6.6 printing using my own ICC profiles to a Canon Pro9000 Mk2. I have profiled two papers which print fine in other applications so I know my profiles are OK. My problem is that one profile prints OK but the other prints with the dreaded magenta colour cast. So why does one print great and the other not. All settings in Capture One are the same except of cause the ICC profile. Printer settings are the same for both papers. All software is up to date. I feel the issue is doubling profiling when using the second profile but how is this possible. Both profiles print fine in Preview and LR3.

    Any ideas ☹️

This does not really help you directly but perhaps it's related somehow?

I use two printers a Canon and an Epson, CO Pro does not free up the settings correctly when going from say the Epson to the Canon, by this I mean I also sometimes get a magenta colour cast when switching printer, also if I print a photo with a border on the Epson first it prints fine BUT when I switch to the Canon to print a borderless photo the settings do not take and it still prints it with a border?

This never happens if I close/open CO Pro between prints, by this I mean If I first print to the Epson close CO restart it and then print to the Canon everything is as it should be?

Try printing with one profile close/open CO and then try the other profile?

Interesting observation Dave241. It made me decide I need another printer to bring excitement back in my life. 😁
OK serious, seems an issue Phase One might want to check. Are you in the mood to open a case and refer to your post here?

Hi Paul, glad to help you relieve your boredom 😄

I did try to open a case both Yesterday and Today but Phase One seems to be down!

Dave many thanks for your response to my problem. I'm away at work at the moment but when I can I will try your suggestion. I will let you know how I get on.
    Cheers Pete

Dave tried your suggestion and unfortunately it did not work. Ilford Classic Gloss paper/profile works perfectly, Ilford High Gloss paper/profile does not. I have now run out of the High Gloss paper so am going to profile some Classic Pearl paper and see if I have the same problem. I still think its something to do with how OSX 10.6.6 works with the Canon print driver when using application colour management. Why has the Canon print driver lost the 'No Colour' option when using application colour management that was available in Tiger ? Snow Leopard driver automatically selects Colorsync in the driver. I have even tried changing the default factory ICC profile that is associated with the paper type with my own custom ICC profile, in some cases this has cured weird printing behaviour. In my case no joy.

OK have now had time to profile Ilford Classic Pearl paper and print from CO 6 and guess what, it prints fine. So I now have two profiles that print with no problem. So what the heck was going on with the High Gloss profile ? Who knows !! So it appears my weird printing problem has cured it self until I try another paper 😄
