    Hi,

If you want to work in session mode in Capture One, I don't understand why you need to import the Lightroom catalog. It seems to me you just have to create sessions and import your RAWs into the relevant sessions.

Agreed. C1's analogy to LR's catalog is a referenced catalog (as opposed to a managed one, which has no LR equivalent afaik).

I'd suggest that you read up on sessions and catalogs. I find sessions useful in the field when I'm shooting specific jobs. When back at my desktop Mac, I decide whether to import the session into the main catalog or continue working (and saving) it as a session.

I am very willing to purchase CO12 for my MacOS but I would like to know if the importing the whole catalogue from LR has been improved in the last 3-4 months when I had a trial version and after spending some days to finalise the import, the end result was very very slow on my MACOS. I have a large catalogue 400.000 photos.

So, as I am not entitled for a trail enymore I am asking here to see if other are experiencing a beter result with large catalogues imported from LR.t

400,000 pictures is a lot. I am not sure you would be more successful now than before.....
The best for you could be to use a catalog devoted software, if you want to benefit from the very high development capacities of Capture One.

Nothing has changed since 12.1 was released and I don't think that any import specific changes were made in 12.1.
