    Hello again:

P1 software writers should check this link and provide C1 installers with approporate install/uninstall of Bonjour without depending on iTunes or Apple.

    Windows
    Bonjour SDK for Windows
Download the SDK and distribute Bonjour as part of your Windows app.

    https://developer.apple.com/bonjour/

Since CO6 (and in CO7) the Bonjour service is installed with the CO installer. It installs version 2.0.4. If Bonjour is already installed, it will not install it, but you can end up with an older version. Removing it and installing CO6 again solves that.

In CO7 the dependency of Bonjour is lifted in the sense that Capture Pilot Server starts with a warning. Bonjour is not necessary for Capture Pilot to work but you have to enter the necesary information manually in your Capture Pilot app on your iOS device.

You do not need to have iTunes or any other Apple software installed on your system.

I just checked this with the latest CO6 versions and CO 701 on 64-bit machine.

Paul: Many thanks for the clarification.

For no reason my C1 6 on a Windows 7 machine stopped finding the Bonjour and gave the manual server message.

Even though I had iTunes on the machine, indeed Bonjour was suddenly missing, after a long time with C1 and Bonjour working fine.

Finally its fixed, just another annoyance.

    Kind Regards,

    Jon

    Hi Jon,
    Same combo works fine here.

Win7 x64, CO DB 7.1.5 (installs Bonjour 2.0.4): Capture Pilot 1.4 works OK.
Next, I installed iTunes 11.1.3 (installs Bonjour 3.0.0) and Capture Pilot 1.4 runs file with Capture Pilot Server from CO7.

Are you on Capture Pilot 1.4? Firewall OK?
What do you mean with "Bonjour suddenly disappears as a service"?
