Is there any way to do this?
My typical wok session involves first copying images from the camera flash memory to disc and only then importing into C1. I typically create a session for each day's shooting, but leave the images in their current location instead of importing them into the catalog itself. This saves me disc space as I do not have duplicates after the import.
Sometimes the images I have copied to disc contain other image types than my Canon raws or other processing might have left image types other than raw. For example I might have done some testing with software like Dxo Optics Pro and created tiffs doing my preliminary editing or I might have shot with raw + jpg or made a pass with Lightroom and gotten some dng or psd files mixed in with the raw images in the folder.
My question is whether there is any way in C1 when importing to specify that only raws be imported so any extraneous tiff, jpg or dng files are not included and so I don't have to worry about whether the next image is a raw, jpg, tiff or dng. Is there any filter in the C1 import that says import only raws? I have looked, but could not find anything like that.

You can use global filters for JPEG and TIFF. For DNG there is not global filter (View menu > Global Filters). 0 -

Sorry that this is a rather late entry to the post. I have tried the use of Global Filters to exclude import of JPEG images when the SD card has both DNG and JPEG versions of the same image without having to do a manual selection. The filter does what it says i.e. hides JPEGS. However the image count indicates that the JPEGS are still imported and must be finish up hidden somewhere in the catalog taking up space. Is there any way to absolutely eliminate import of such images rather than just hiding them from sight? 0 -
I do it the following way: In the import window I can sort the images (top left, over the displayed images) according to name, date, etc. and there I choose to sort the images for 'extension'. This gives me an easier way to just select only my raw images for import (and not the jpegs, etc.).
