Weird Expression Media 2 Installation
I did an experiment. I thought something was wrong with my system. Here is what I did, after I backed up everything.
1) I reformatted my PC. Win 7 PRO 64-Bit Intel Core i5 750 @ 8GB DDR3 memory.
2) After I completed reinstalling Win 7 and did a basic update from Windows Update, I then installed CaptureONE PRO 5.2.
3) I then installed the Expression Media 2 (EM2).
4) Installed SP1.
5) Installed SP2.
I then checked the version under "About" menu. Although the SP2 was installed properly, it displayed, "SP1." The weird thing is that when I go into the Start --> Control Panel --> Programs and Features to remove EM2, the SP2 was displayed.
I then opened EM2 and started an empty catalog and tried to add test file into the catalog via C1PRO5.2. It did not work.
The next step is fuzzy since I don't remember the exact order I did. But I remember installing EM2 SP2 patch and selected the "Modify" option. I did not work; I still can't send the test RAW into EM2 catalog.
Without uninstalling EM2, I installed EM2, SP1, and SP2. Now that I checked EM2's version under the "About" menu, it now display "SP2" as the version and now I can send test RAW file from C1PRO5.2 into an open EM2 SP2 catalog.
I am curious why did that happen?
