Mediapro crashes

I had the same jpeg (and TIFF!)-crash problem with Win XP. The preview didn't show well either; it stayed as big as the thumbnail. But thanks to your tip of changing the rendering engine into WIC it works ok, although I think it's not the way Phaseone intended it to be.

    Update:
When changing the preferred rendering engine from Phaseone to Windows Imaging Component everything works as expected. In that case the raw file is however displayed without the modifications made in C1 pro. That does not seem to make sense since showing the modifactions made should be one of the pro's of Mediapro, or am I misinterpreting something here?

    Kind regards, Michel

    Michel,
That suggests that a component for rendering is either inaccessible or unavailable. Please create a support case and provide us some details about your system. We can take a closer look there.

    Michel,
I sent it over to the Test Department to give me a little more insight into the possible cause. I'll get back to you once I hear from them.

    Hi,

Found out the probable cause. I had FastPictureViewer Codec Pack 3.0 installed to be able to view thumbnails of Raw files in windows explorer (Canon doesn't provide a 64 bit WIC). After uninstalling the coded pack Phase One rendering works on Raw and Jpegs. Reinstalling the Codec pack lets the crash when importing jpegs return. Would be nice if this conflict could be avoided in a future update of Media Pro though, since I liked the solution the Coded Pack offered me. I replied the same to the support team.

    Kind regards, Michel

That unfortunately doesn't not resolve the issue I am having... I just uninstalled FastPictureViewer (not the codec pack) and tried to import a JPG... no dice.. crashes again... ☹️
