Just curious, are you importing into the catalog? If yes, inside catalog or current location? Or do you use sessions?

What amount of images we are talking?

    so does any adjustments.

It was working yesterday - today, completely unstable. I even started with a brand new session and crashity crash crash.

The first day playing all seemed fine and ran smoothly but working up some captures today for real I've had quite a few crahes and all without any real pattern. Local adjustments, browsing the thumbnails, copy and applying adjustment settings and I even came back to my Mac after a couple of hours break only to wake it from sleep with a window informing me C1 has crashed.

Normally I'd just revert back to the last stable version 6.4.2. However, when the output is this much better, for now I'm gritting my teath and bearing it as I feel the output quality improvements are more than worrh it.

Using V7 in classic session mode and have not imported via card directly through C1 since V4.

I hope they fix the issues with CO7 really fast. I like it but right now it has been sitting here for 10 min. at 600% CPU usage with just the beach ball spinning. Really bad release.

When reporting a particularly random crash (closing preferences window -> beachballing until all memory was used up), PhaseOne suggested I tried to reset my Mac’s PRAM (Parametric Memory). I haven’t tried it yet, still at home, but in case you guys want to give it a shot too, here’s how: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379

Other Apple knowledge base articles claim they store quite a bit more than stated in this article in PRAM (e.g. colour profile information, GPU state settings etc.), so this might be worth a try. We’ll see.

    Cheers,
    -Sascha

P.S. One of the things I like about PhaseOne support: I added a few reports to the system Friday/Saturday. I received feedback speedily, even on Sunday 10pm.

No problem here whatsoever on iMac i7 3.4 (2011) and on MacPro 2.66 QuadCore (2007).
Tethered with Phase One P45+ and 5d MkII.
Sorry to hear that you have problems.

Live Preview is the same as CO6 on P45+. I would have liked to see some improvement here...
On Canon EOS 5DII Live View is a bit sluggish compared to EOS Utility, but anyway a welcome addition.
The workaround required connect the camera is a bit awkward to install, but works spot on.

Resetting the PRAM didn’t change anything for me. OSX 10.8.2.

That's what I've got as well, with 16GB ram and the 2GB graphics card. Nothing but crashes for me, I just can't get it to work for longer than a minute. Tried trashing prefs and rebuilding sessions but no dice. This is bullshit.

Your machine. The reality is that the application is buggy.

Ya, having the same problem CRASH, CRASH and More Crashes. The only way that I can get it to work is to have a session with only one album in it, and just a few pictures. If I add a second album, and more "referenced" pictures. It just crashes, building the thumb nails. At one point Sunday, it had my iMac i7 at 794% CPU and using 10Gig of memory.

    Hmmm,
    That's confusing.
I use sessions (a new one, from scratch, with 6-700 pictures, also some sessions shot in CO6 and converted to CO7, 1000+pictures per session). Also 16GB of RAM, but only 1GB video card. I use 10.7.5 on a RAID0 of two SSDs.

In the mean time I've also experienced some crashes, but strictly when I switch sessions (that's a problem that I've also encountered in CO6).

    Puzzling.

    Later edit:
I've noticed that you said that you are running CO7 AND CO6 on the same machine. Don't know if this might cause trouble.
    I've first uninstalled CO6 and THEN I've installed CO7.
    (I've looked at this article: http://www.phaseone.com/Search/Article. ... nguageID=1)
Don't know if this might help.

I share in some of the crashing frustrations. At work I have had to fresh install several times just to get it to launch without crashing on a 2.66 17" MBP running 10.6.8. At home on my 2.3 mini running 10.8.2 it has performed beautifully in tethered capture, browsing folders originally shot or ingested in to version 6, etc.

Just out of curiosity, for the people having issues, what OS are you running?

Oh dear...... LOTS of crashes today processing some files shot with P65+. I'm slowly loosing patience with this and might have to go back to 6 as its totally unstable.

Just browsing through captures crashed the damn thing. I even had to verify my catalogue today (???) after a crash?

Sitting here typing this after having to force quit C1 V7 again........

Please P1 update and fix this quickly. Don't know who beta tests this software but who ever must have the most perfect system ever to let you give this the green light. I'd love to get into the beta program as I use this soft ware every single day and I want it to work!

I had both CaptureOne versions installed, too. After much to-and-fro about above mentioned crazy crash, PhaseOne support suggested I completely removed CO6 and CO7 (including the Library cleanout you linked to in your posting). I think this was to establish sort-of a “clean slate†to work out what irks my Mac installation.

Well, haven’t had a single crash all day. This might be coincidence, or pure luck, but we’ll see.

This is on OSX 10.8.2 with DNG files, non-tethered.

    Cheers,
    -Sascha

I was having the same problem, but I solved it by setting "Hardware Acceleration (Use Open CL For)" to "Never." This is found under Preferences/General. It was the same with C1-6.
