Capture Pilot enhancement

It would be really great if at one point Capture Pilot would support live view
I used to use an app by OnOne Software called DSLR Camera Remote (now discontinued) which was similar to Capture Pilot but it supported live view shooting to,believe me it was so useful !

    Well, it's a very honest appraisal in my opinion and the challenges they have listed, plus many more that are similar, can be identified readily throughout this forum too.

    I have been using, on and off, an application for remote control of Canon Sureshot cameras since around 2006 and also Canon's own software sometimes for DSLRs.

    The Sureshot software allowed full control of the cameras that could support it including, of course, the zoom lens. Slowly Canon dropped the in-camera support for such controls. That was a great shame because the cameras became ever more capable of better results for my purposes ... except I could no longer control the new ones remotely as required.

    Maybe, with the recent launches of quite a few cameras with in built Wi-Fi and some form of control based on that we can see why they stopped supporting non-proprietory control when they did.

    This part of the market seems to be in a constant state of flux and presumably have relatively few regular users so far (compared to the mass market). It also has potential to cut into sales of peripheral devices - remote control units for example. I can see why the manufacturers may not wish to be at the forefront of developments.

    IMO it's a brave move for any company to take on the development of such technology and accept the challenges - as onOne describe in their notice.
