6.3.1 runs fine under Lion for me on a 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, but I don' shoot tethered my 1DS 3…

However, besides any possible issue with C1/Lion/Canon, I would be very very cautious with Apple's Cloud… having read a lot of horror stories… For me the best Cloud is an external HD! (and yes, I do travel a lot!).
My files are too important for me and my clients to be left to an external party…

I shoot with both a Phase One p45+ and a Canon 1ds Mk2. Seems that the Canon presents the biggest issues, as I've read that it's no longer supported by Phase One. Is that really true?

The tethering component in CO Pro comes from Canon and Canon dropped tethering support for the 1Ds mkII in their Software Development Kit. As a result tethering support in CO Pro 6 does not include the 1D/1Ds mkII series.
As a note: I am in particular not happy with how Canon releases software updates as EOS Utility is not yet even compatible with OS X 10.6.8 let alone 10.7.x Lion.

The issue at hand here is that your technologies (Lion on one hand with iCloud and iOS device and on the other hand your Canon 1Ds mkII) have become out of sync.

Expect this to happen more often as we connect more and more devices and services. An older notebook (with OS X 10.6.x) might help. I will keep mine when I replace it next year for similar reasons (I have still some PPC Mac software I want to keep alive, which is not possible under Lion).

Thanks for the replies. I'm not planning on using Icloud for image files, but for synching of calendars and contacts, at least for now. It's pretty cool to have 2 Icloud devices synched and watch one update instantly when you change the other one. I'm curious about what horror stories you might have heard about Icloud.

It's sad that our cameras and computers that function perfectly well need to be replaced so quickly because they are no longer supported. My Canon doesn't have nearly the resolution of my Phase One back, but it's the right tool for some jobs.
