I have stuck with 6.4.1. as I am on a Windows pc. It responds very quickly.
I had understood that the last two releases were to fix Mac issues (as well as a few new cameras)

Are you on a Mac or a pc?

CO 6.4.3 is also available for Windows. It adds tethering support for Canon and Nikon cameras. Only 6.4.2 was Mac only.

I know it is available, but from reading the release notes it didn't appear to add any fixes to the Win version for my camera. And as my CO is running quite well, I decided to leave well enough alone.
    Thanks though for the note.

    I'm using Windows 7 64 bit version.
the previous version of c1 which is 6.4.1 is fastest to respond than 6.4.3.

I installed the 6.4.3 update last week have stayed at 6.3.? previously.

So far I have not spotted any obvious difference in performance or the response of various tools. Yesterday I processed a 1200 image shoot from Saturday with files from a Canon 1D3 (my usual body and gives average file size about 15Mb) and a 600D (average file size around 24Mb) and speed of process was not obviously different between the two and not obvously different to the earlier C1 version either.

That said the subject matter was a little different to my normal content but I doubt that would have much effect overall as I still performed the same edit actions.

The PC involved is far from a high specification.

Even when no performance related changes have been made to an update, a user can experience a difference in performance after an update, being either positive or negative. This can have several causes that are related to the individual setup.

    For best experience I suggest
    - deinstall the current version first before installing the newest
    - defragment your hard disk (not for SSD) periodically
    - reset the application (preferences, default session file, batch history) when performance has decreased

As far as I know, CO 6.4.3 has no performance tweaks, but who knows...

I followed the advise of PhaseOne support to disable the OpenCL, it fixed the problem, not c1 is running blazing fast.
