How to assign keywords permanently?

Today I switched over from C8 to C9 – great job!

Maybe it's my fault, but I can not assign keyword permanently to a file.

I tried to assign a new keyword to an existing RAW file (comming along with a XMP sidecar and allready assigned keywords).
A few seconds after assigning a new additional keyword it will be automaticly deleted. It's the same behavior if I switch off automatic metadata sync in the preference pane and then sync metadata via the context menu (rightclick).
It is not posible to write keywords into the XMP sidecar within existing keywords. If I delete all(!) keywords from the existing file and assign some new keywords, it works fine.

All other metadata (Titel etc.) are syncing correct. I thinks (hope) the must be a way to sync (write) keywords too.

    I have experinced the same.
    I applied a keyword to about 770 photo. The keyword were for a short while attached to the photos and then the keyword automatically were deleted one by one on alle the 770 photos.

    The same happens when I ajusted a rating. The photos first get the new rating and then they go back to the old rating.

    Maybe you have primary variant on?

    Hi,

    I have the same problem with color tag. My picture have a color tag, i change it and after few second the color tag go back to the original state. I am no alone 😉

    So i think it is a global problem with metadata.

    Problem appear only if color tag are present before open catalog.

    Color tags seem to be OK for me, but image ratings are not.

    If I rate an image with 4 stars, for example, and then switch to another album, when I return that image has only 1 star.

    I don't see that problem with CO8.

    Added: Looking more closely, it seems that only images stored in the catalog have this problem. Those stored in referenced folds do not.

    Same problem here!
    It took one keyword but not another one, after a few seconds it disappears. Rating and color tags are good.
    I will open a support case on that.
