Bug (?) with Large Viewer window
Hi,
Just hit F10 to open a Large Viewer window and display its toolbar. You'll see that it has a limited set of buttons when compared to the "normal" Viewer window. Right-click the toolbar and Customize... : the dialog box is almost empty. You can't add anything.
The Large Viewer window is merely ignoring certain buttons (even if I add them manually in the XML file generated for my custom workspace). This is annoying since this window is an important element of the dual display workspace. I can't say whether it's by design or if it's a bug but this is not the expected behavior IMHO.

It sounds like it is doing exactly what it is intended to do - be a large, probably full screen viewing option mainly intended for use on a second screen.
You can turn menus on and off (Show and Hide) but more likely you are still editing on another screen where you have full control. Alternatively float some tools on the secondary viewer if you need them there.

OK but why prevent the user from adding the buttons he wants to be present in the toolbar? I had understood that the C1 user interface was "fully configurable". Here it seems that a developer has decided what's "good" and what's not.0 -
Because it is designed to be used as a relatively uncluttered screen for maximum use of the screen Real Estate?
If you want a full configured option for "Full Screen" use the regular viewer window and hide the tools and browser. That will get you to a similar point - but it's not a second Viewer in that case - it's the primary viewer.
So, if you are not using a second screen the Large viewer is a relatively quick and accessible way to an uncluttered "full screen" type view that some users clearly like for certain tasks they undertake. I guess it is just possible that there is some sort of functionality that makes it even more useful if using a Mac or something like that.
If you are using a second screen then your other screen can still have the full fat Viewer in play anyway and there is no need for the overhead of duplicated control buttons. In fact if used in a Studio situation with, perhaps, the client watching the second screen the fewer distracting icons there are on show the better I would assume. It's not something I expect to have to worry about myself.

Adding a couple of buttons to the toolbar wouldn't change anything to the available real estate, I guess. Well, until now the support didn't answer that this was "as designed". They only suggested to re-install everything 😄 .0 -

Maybe they have but as fas as I can tell the functionality today is more or less as it has been since I started using C1 (Version 6) and it has always offered the same "streamlined" options.
However, since you have more or less the same screen size capability with the primary viewer should you need it .... does that solve your practical problem?

OK. Case closed: they told me that they have asked the development team to align the toolbar capabilities in both the large Viewer window and the standard viewer. We'll see whether this happens one of these days but hey, they're quicker than Adobe. 0
