Yes, I have been there. Perhaps I am thick, or perhaps Phase One is not very good at communicating, but I read that as a page that is mainly citing marketing-speak about Pro without being particularly specific:
    "Workflow your way"
    "capture creativity"
"superior image quality" (will the standard edition have inferior quality then?)

    Or looking at the details:
      Customize workspace
      Multiple monitor support
      Variants
      Multiple recipes
      Batch processing
      Sessions
      Tethered shooting
      Overlay
      Styles
"HDR" tool (=shadow and highlight adjustment)
      Lens tool
      Colour editor
      Skin tone tool
      Level/Curve tool

Perhaps they mean that what they list on that page is what's in Pro and not in Std...? Is it really?

Surely there must be a simple list that tells people why the should pay much more for Pro than Std?

Except for the Batch processing, HDR tool, Levels and Curves, I believe you covered the differences pretty good (Batch, HDR, Levels and Curves are the same in Std & Pro IIRC). Note that customizable workspace is currently a CO4 Pro/Mac only feature. Add to the list that Pro has 2 free upgrades versus 1 for Std and grid lines. Process quality is the same for both (expect for the enhancements the additional tools can add).

Whether the Pro price premium returns value is only you to decide. It's a free world.

It is indeed a free world.

And it is better to make informed decisions than blind.

You seem to be pretty well informed. Thanks for the comments.

Curious that P1 doesn't have a simple overview of the issue.

    Thanks

Will Pro read the corrections made in non pro versions?

Yes, and vice versa (except for the Pro tools adjustments I think but not sure).

Paul, Is Phase One still offering these included upgrades, I was under the impression they were not, but you seem to be much more informed. I have learned a lot just reading your replies.

    Thank you.

    Paul,
I did a information request to Phase One. I quote:
Capture 3 Pro was the last version to offer 2 free upgrades. We since then lowered the price of the pro version and now have paid upgrades.
