    Surprising, since only a year ago you sang high praise over CO (4.6 at that time) over LR. But its a free world. All the best.

    Must have missed that report! Apparently lagging behind with my 3 year old (and older) Macs. 😉

    Yep, maybe I'm just too "got to have the newest, latest, greatest" - I keep trying out these new software(s) thinking there's something "in there" that will make my life better. Seems it gets harder, I need to find that magical software that works 100% "for what I shoot, style etc.."

    Maybe I'll try Photomechanic - it's a wonderful software & speedy as ?*&%$@, I'll test this out this afternoon - Import, edit
    with Photomechanic, organize my picks in some "To Process" folder & use C1 to Process from there.

    For what it is worth, I use Photo Mechanic for import and metadata. After that I open CO5 for adjustments and processing. Works fine for me and indeed, PM is a very mature, fast and rock-solid application (after years of development). Hard to beat.

    Steve,
    Since you seem dead set on leaving the software I won't stop you. We'll be sad to see you go.
    However, if I may request a parting gift, perhaps you could create a support case and give us your system details so that we can continue to improve the software for others.

    It is a regretful that you do not find CO in its latest iteration "up to speed". Personally, I find that it works remarkably well in v 5x to the point that I've finally eliminated all earlier versions from my system. While there are certainly features that I would like to see present, and am drawing up a list to submit to Phase One (and I should add that some of these features were previously available in earlier versions, i.e. 3.7.9) overall in terms of workflow, speed and conversion quality I'm extremely happy with CO.

    @Drew & Ralph,
    Poster steve2 has already made a completely different statement in another thread re. the improved CO 5.1.1 speed:

    Now that is an example of Dutch thoroughness!

    Yes, steve2 does indeed observe:

    "Got it to work now - had to trash all of the previous Prefs files - works great now & SPEEDY!!!"

    It might have been helpful to others encountering similar difficulties had he shared this observation in the present thread as well.
