although i always recommend waiting, i upgraded to 10.4.7 on the first day (had some weird problems with 10.4.6) and i can say that everything works perfectly, maybe faster...but like i said, my g4 pb (17\" 1.67) did not really like 10.4.6...

  I must however warn those who need to Capture tethered on Canon EOS via USB on PowerPC G4 and G5 .
  It will not work. On Intel Mac it works

  sorry to post this multiple times, but I want to make sure it gets found by people having this problem, I wish I had this info during my Job friday on location with a discovery of no tethered shooting.

  Download the correct version of the ppc IOUSBFamily.kext, which for my powerbook g4 is the one from 10.4.6
  Mac OS X 10.4.6 8I127 IOUSBFamily.kext 2.2.8 for PPC System Update for PPC based systems v 228.4.0
  This downloads a package installer and it replaces your 10.4.7 usb controller file with the 4.0 version which does work. Just to be safe I made a backup of the file first, it's in your system/library/extensions folder
  I did this successfully and it worked right away.
  This way you don't have to worry about permissions and such, as it works just like any other apple updater software.
