I want to buy a new Mac, how is lion/c1?
As new macs only run on lion, how is lion behaving with c1? Which version version c1 should a use?
My only experience with lion is on my 2 year old iMac, and it's got considerably slower with lion. Also, I get weird artifacts over the screen sometimes.
What is the most reliable combination?
Cheers paul

See the sticky thread in this forum from Phase One and several Lion related threads here as well. A search for 'Lion' might give you all the answers you need and then some more. 0 -
I have a 2007 Macbook with 4GB ram. Lion is faster on my machine than Snow Leopard as far as surfing goes.
C1 was a bit sluggish.
I did notice that Lion doesn't manage memory well but suspect this will improve as we get newer updates.
Recently I got a Mac Mini 2.7 i7 with 8gb of ram and C1 runs very well on it. There were issues at first but Apple's .1 update seemed to smooth things out.
With a computer only two years old, you may want to try maxing out the ram.
I just did a quick search, and it looks as though there were two 2009 models of iMac. One has two Ram slots and the other, four.
If you have the one that accepts 4 then you can get 16gb in there! Crucial has 4gb sticks for $21.00 each.
84.00 is cheap enough to try. Much cheaper than getting a new computer.0
