    Hello

The Capture One LE that comes with a Leica is the very same as you can download from Phase One website. This is correct.

However the stand-alone software to handle tethered is not a Phase One product. If it was, as you say, it would be simply easier just to use Capture One instead of developing a new software. But as it is this is not the case.

Well since I do not like to point fingers so I deleted the name in your post.

In this case I am sorry to say that he is. I do not know who has developed the program you are referring to if it is not Leica them self. What I do know is that it was not developed by Phase One.
However then Capture One LE that comes with is the same that you can download from our website and a product key is provided with each M8 camera under an OEM agreement between our two companies.

thanks ulf...sorry i made you edit my post:)....i own several copies of C1 and it just did not make any sense to me why phase wouldn't just write in tethered support fo r the M8 into C1 instead of writing a standalone software...i guess i will go back to leica with this....
do you know if tethered support of the M8 is something that might happen for 4.0? i do have the pro version...
