Confused about Library Search Scope
I'm very puzzled about how Library search scope works. My understanding was that a Project restricts the search range to anything inside that Project. So, if I create a Project, add a "Birds" Album, and the a Smart Album which selects all images with keyword "Duck", the Smart Album will show all the Birds which are Ducks. Right? No, it shows nothing.
So I tried this:
Inside a Group I created a Smart Album. I expect it to have Catalog scope. And indeed it works with my filters. I created a second. Both worked.
I then created a Project. I created an Album in that Project, with the full set of images I wanted (establishing scope?). I then moved the two Smart Albums inside the Project. They still worked! Yay!
But... I then created a third Smart Album, at the same location as the other 2, inside the Project, with the exact same settings as one of the ones that works - and it shows nothing.
Search Scope was tricky in Aperture until one got used to it - and in Aperture you had some degree of direct control over it . But in C1-8 it is downright mysterious. Can anyone give me any tips ? Is this a Feature, or a Bug??

Never mind. I decided to go away and let it think about for an hour, when I got back the Smart Album was populated and the search scope was working. Unfortunately it seems in quite a lot of Library operations when there is a delay there is no signal whatsoever that there is any kind of activity going on... 0
