Oh dear - and I paid!
My initial experience of Media Pro is a disaster - I wish I had read the forum first! At least I got it to start but it won't display JPEG files stating: "no Importer found for media file". Slightly more success with NEF --- but it soon crashed. The problem seems to lie in the media rendering engine. Fortunately, I still have Expression Media 2 but recommend anyone thinking of this product to hold off until there is evidence that it works. I have sent a formal report to the 'Support' link - although the dialogue expecting me to have a camera etc was off-putting! The problem seems to lie in the media rendering engine

Hi Sonylr,
Support replied promptly and helpfully, so that is good. In my opinion, the software was not ready for release - at least for WinXP users - and, although I now have it working, there are still issues with importing old catalogs from Expression Media - I have raised these with Support again. It's good to know that an upgrade is promised for June but it's a pity that much goodwill has been lost, especially as many of us were pleased to see the software move away from Microsoft. We had high expectations.
Accessing support would be a much more pleaasant experience if there were 'Not Applicable' options in those fields relating to camera backs etc. I can see from the forum that I am not alone in finding this off-putting.
Incidentally, did any of the Phase One guys come from Pixmantec? That was my favourite RAW converter before they sold out to Adobe.
Regards,

Hoi there Mike,
I was a very happy Pixmantec user before the great sellout. It seems a lifetime ago now ......0 -
There was nothing quite like Pixmantic... it was fluid and just worked... LR is good.. but it still isn't the same! 0
