C1 3.6 Win still trailing behind Mac version
Judging by the newsletter, the 3.6 Win version will not only be delayed relative to the Mac version, it will also lack some of the new features found in the Mac 3.6 (Before and After preview of an image

The floating focus window already in Mac 3.5.2 is apparently not in store for us Windows users.
Does this mean that we have to convert to Mac to benefit from all features and facilities or will Phase One bring alignment between the two versions?
Rather than being told that the delay is a matter of quality policy, I would like to see a straight answer to allow me to decide whether to switch to Mac!

Micheal, although I've been looking for excuses for years to dump Windows and switch to Mac, I don't think the feature differences in C1 are enough to prompt this. In particular, reports from users who use C1 on both platforms almost invariably say that they prefer the Windows version, I think primarily because of speed/responsiveness. For me although the additional Mac features would be nice they are relatively minor and I'm patient - another few months is no big deal for me. OTOH if you were on the verge of switching anyway, this might be the excuse that you need. 😊

Hi Don
I used to work on a Mac and switched to Windows when Apple appeared to be losing ground with major software developers favoring early release of Windows versions.
I definitely do not wish to switch to Mac (for cost reasons) unless I have to. You may be right about the speed/responsiveness issue.
Yet I beg to differ 😉 as regards your statement that certain features are relative minor.
1. A floating focus window will allow you to see up close the effect of any changes made to e.g. exposure. It can be hard to judge the effect of a change in e.g. the shadow areas of the neck on a person as the slightest change can have a great impact. The low-res preview is not adequate to show this.
2. Before and after change comparisons are also extremely valuable in my opinion for fine-tuning images.
I will give you that much that I am perhaps a bit impatient but if it was just a matter of waiting some 20 days I would admit that I would be out of order.
The fact is however that I attended a PhaseOne roadshow, I believe, in June where I saw the floating focus window. And if this is not part of the Windows 3.6 release, it might not be done until the next major release (i.e. 3.7), and, yes, then my patience would be stressed. 😭
BTW, impressive firedance images 😄
