    Per K,

No takers for a while, so I’ll offer 2cents worth.
To me the EC is more of a general tool to compensate for under or over exposed images. The ‘Pyramid’ sliders are a little more precise way to make histogram adjustments on highs and lows. For me, the best method for an even more precise image adjustment is to use the Set Shadow and Set Highlight eyedroppers. Using other tools or settings like RGB, Red, Green, Blue, Levels, Curves and Preserve color balance and you can get even more precise. The tool choices are all there with the only limiting factor being your monitor and your discerning eye.

It’s kind of like… Analogy coming… when dissecting a frog. You will get different results using a Butter Knife, a Steak Knife, a Scalpel, or a Laser. The choice is up to you.

Knowledge Base article # 1672 may offer some insight to the Set Shadow and Set Highlight tools.
