Saved for Other Apps?

I seem to be missing something. I have downloaded Capture One 2.9.2 for use on a LightPhase back. I have also tried 3.6 version. I don't seem to be able to save a file to open in Photoshop. In the 2.9.2 version the develop button is gray in the 3.6 version the image is extreemly high contrast posterized image. What am I missing?
