C1 9.3 and Open CL
Hi !
I have a MacBook Pro 17" late 2011 with an AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 Mo, Open CL is 1.2
When I develop files WITH OpenCL ON --> all the computer is slow
When I choose NO Open CL --> computer is OK
did someone expérience the same ?
has somenone a solution, workaround ?
does someone know if there is an update of AMD Driver for mac ?
has PhaseOne an information about the version of OpenCL used ?
******UPDATE******
I discover there is the possibility with bootcamp to update the driver and have OpenCL 2.0
PhaseOne, do we need OpenCL 2.0 ?
thank you all
Laurent

PhaseOne's Note on supported GPUs is here: https://www.phaseone.com/en/Search/Arti ... nguageid=1
Information about GPUs for COP9 is so short it's useless.OpenCL hardware support for Capture One 9 (as of June 22, 2016)
AMD, Windows
AMD Radeon R9 Nano
NVIDIA, Windows
MS Surface Book GPU's
Nvidia Geforce GTX 950
Nvidia Geforce GTX 970
Intel: Windows+Mac:
Intel HD Graphics 520
The COP approach to GPU support can be summarised as: GPUs on Macs are supported except when they don't work or produce bad results. In the case of an unsupported GPU, disable Open CL0 -

that sums it up beautifully... but hey at least now you can calibrate EIZO monitors from C10 -

My EIZO calibrates itself. For me using the CO button is just a gimmick or I don't understand the concept at all.0 -
Hi all !
thank you for your answers !
I know the article 1720 since the beginning of use of open CL : no news !
two question stay :
- for PhaseOne : does C1-9 use OpenCl 2.0 ??
- for users : does someone upgrade its GPU to OpenCl 2.0 ?
thank you all !!!!0 -

The Eizo-feature in CO is all about being a easy, fast, and simple way to get the Capture One / Eizo recommended calibration done in 1 click.
No need to setup or run other programs to calibrate. CO uses Eizo's SDK to achieve this solution, so of course uses the built-in calibration unit.0 -
Hello !
always no real-reply about Open CL 2.0
but I discover how to eliminate the slow problem of my mac :
all C1+pref uninstall and reinstall !
I never did it, just install the new one each time.
that's all !

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think OS X supports OpenCL 2.00 -

According to this Apple support note, all Apple Computers support a maximum of OpenCl 1.2
The most powerful 5K iMac from late 2015 comes with either Radeon R9 M395 or M395X which both can support OpenCL 2.0 but these are the only ones AFAIK.0 -

Yes, but only on Windows, and only if supported by the adapter. Currently only AMD cards/drivers use OpenCL 2.0.
There's a best-case speed improvement of 0.5-1% percent 1.2 vs 2.0, so very negligible and hard to consistently measure.0 -

thank you very much for that so clear answer !!!
the speed improvement is surely better with C1-10 !!! with is really quicker !! (but so instable ...)
