The quality slider for JPEG has been changed in CO6 in the sense that you can set a lower quality value in CO6 compared to previous versions of CO, to gain the same result.

In other words, quality 50 is still very high quality in CO6. And yes, the file size estimation is way off in CO6.

I'm not getting nearly the same results in v6. Did another direct comparison.

    IN V6:
    Format jpeg
Quality 10 - I set this all the way down to 10
    ICC sRGB
    Scale 20%
    Size 998x666 px

File size is showing in C1 v6 as 127kb but when it is processed it is 444kb

Same settings in v3.7.9 except quality set at medium

    v3 file size is 184kb
    v6 file size is 444kb

Also, the smaller file size from v3 looks better and sharper.

Another note - quality 50 in v6 seems to be about equal in image quality as medium in v3, but v6 produces much larger file size.

    v3 file size is 184kb
    v6 file size is 560kb

Okay, seemed to figure it out.

I unchecked the create thumbnail box and the file size dropped dramatically. Went from an average of 420kb down to an average of around 60kb. Problem solved.

Did not know that. Learning on the job. Thanks for the feedback.
