    Hmmm.

In CO9.0.1 with OSX 10.11.2 I can set up a search for geotagged images 'is false' and get my images (none are geotagged) while 'is true' shows no images. As expected.

    Yap,

the same issue here (C8 and C9) on El Capitan.

In between I am using LR with a SmartAlbum to identify files without GPS coordinates.

    Best regards

    Ahahaha! Thanks Rabudu

Yes, I can keep Aperture running to achieve the same result.

    Thanks

I just tested on my C1 Pro v20 in session mode on Win10. It works with .NEF and .DNG when I use Photo Mechanic to set GPS latitude and longitude on images that do not have any GPS data. C1 picks up the coordinates just fine. I am actually a bit surprised that it works without doing a Metadata Load in C1.

My PM preferences are set to update embedded  XMP and IPTC and also a XMP sidecar file. I am not sure what metadata block C1 actually reads.

    David,

Reading this reminded me that my recently acquired Android phone might offer some images with Geodata embedded in it DNG Raw files (my previous smartphone did not) and a quick look reveals that it does not but the related jpgs do, at least when I have the Location information active.

Latitude, Longitude and Altitude are recorded and the Metadata tool provides a direct link to mapping via a browser. (Running V20).

I'm not sure on what basis the filter's "Yes/No" decisions are taken but a quick look at that particular set shows the correct counts.

There are (or have been historically iirc) different formats for storing geotagging data and I am not at all sure which format(s) C1 might recognise. I seem to recall that it used to be quite specific and I have not seen anything that suggests anything has changed.
