Terrible noise w/C1LE and 20d.
I am at wit's end. I am getting very noticeable noise with my RAW conversion in C1LE from my 20d. I have noise suppression and banding suppression turned on to the max. I am not enabling any sharpening. This is with fairly well-exposed images. I am using ISO 100. Using the 20D profile. I'm so vey frustrated!

kbstokes,
At the focus tool, selections of Soft Look or Standard Look are available with many choosing Soft for flesh tones.
Sharpening an image can be tricky and too much can have an ill effect. Try setting Amount to 150% and Threshold to 3 and check results.
At the File > Preferences > Process Settings tab be sure that Disable Sharpening on output is NOT checked. When this is checked, the focus tool will show the results of your Sharpening settings, but the information will not be applied to processed files.
In general, setting Noise and Banding tools 'to the max' may not be good practice. You should run tests to get a handle on your DSLR Noise suppression settings.
For Banding information please read Knowedge Base article # 1385

Be sure RAW image files are brought directly from 20D into Capture One without any manipulations using other software.
Let us know how this goes for you.
If you continue to have problems with this issue, please Create a Support Case at:

and upload a RAW image file to server.

I appreciate the reply. However, I set the focus setting to zero, no sharpening whatsoever. So this noise is without any sharpening. 0 -
Banding suppression adds noise.
Set the banding supression slider to the lowest level (ie disabled) and the noise will probably disappear.0 -
Ok, let me give that a try. Thanks for the help! I'll report back. 0
