heal layer anchor outside of image

I created a heal layer to remove a tiny plane in the top right of an image. When I click on the plane with the mask brush it automatically created the anchor point to the southeast of it, off the edge of the image. How do I move the anchor point?

  The easiest way to do what you want to do is to select the anchor point first.
  
  (1) create a heal layer
  
  (2) hold down Alt while you click where you would like the anchor point to be
  
  (3) brush over the blemish you want to remove. (If you don't quite like the result, you can move the anchor point by dragging it.)

  Edited to add: another way to remove a blemish like a bird or plane, if it is small, is to use the spot removal tool.
