Media Pro SE misses the mark.
I used Aperture since version 2 and loved it. One stop shopping. I spent so much less time cataloging and dealing with files than before Aperture. Yes, I tried Lightroom but did not find it intuitive at all. With the announcement that Aperture was being discontinued and replaced by Photos I waited to see if Photos was close to what I had with Aperture. Obviously it is not.
I had tried Capture One in the past and liked the images it produced but was disappointed in the workflow it required to use.
I bought Capture One 9 to replace Aperture. While I love the quality and features I am a bit disappointed in the DAM portion of catalogs.
I bought Media Pro SE to handle the DAM portion. What a serious disappointment and waste of money. This thing misses the mark on so many levels.
The main disappointments are the "integration" with Capture One. I have to export into Capture One do my processing and then rebuild previews in Media One to see the changes. I also found out this does not work with Capture One 10!
Another huge disappointment is you can't even export a version from Media Pro. I have to export to Capture One and then export from there.
I have since deleted Media Pro from my computer. I can do the same cataloging with Apple's Photos. The plus to this is I can use Apple TV to view them on my TV when friends or family want a "slideshow". Media Pro does not have this ability to work with Plex, Fire TV or Apple TV. So again another workaround of exporting files.
I am hopeful that Capture One 11 will add more DAM features. The other hope is the Media Pro/Capture One integration will be more seamless.
Sorry Rant over!

you could still let your Aperture as DAM 😁
tray luminar + Aperture+ Affinity Photo , they are best professional combination solution for me.
tel jet i didnt tray it with Apple Fotos,
Apple Fotos works direct with Luminar and Affinity 💡0
