Mix-up when using v10 and v11 side by side
Hi,
When installing v11, the v10 catalog is backed up in the same folder as the new v11 catalog. One can rename it in order to use it in v10 but the Adjustments, Cache and Originals subfolders will then be shared.
I guess this will generate some trouble when keeping both versions side by side. Catalogs from different versions should have a clearly separated set of data.
Suggested workaround :
- Create a separate folder for the old v10 catalog.
- Move the v10 catalog backup to that folder.
- Rename the catalog.
- Launch v10. The Adjustments, Cache and Originals subfolders will be re-created.
This should be done automatically.

I haven't opened catalogs in v11 yet, but Sessions are working almost exactly as you suggest. 0 -

I have a few session related folder that have multiple subfolders for the edit files of a number of C1 versions and occasional tests all sitting side by side. They have yet to get in the way of each other. It's rather impressive in fact although I can't think of an immediately compelling reason to try and introduce the benefit to a business workflow.
😕
