quickly selecting files
While selecting a number of files for adjusting, if I accidentally click outside of the image, it deselects all of the files I've chosen. I may have 500 images and I'll be scrolling through picking over or under exposures as fast as possible and I occasionally miss the actual rectangle of the image and all my selections vanish. REALLY irritating. This was not the case with C1 3.7. Is there an option I'm not seeing?
And, while on the subject, all selections vanish when I page down with the keyboard. Again, not an issue with 3.7. I would hold ctrl with one finger while tapping page down with another and select images with them mouse as they pass by. Now I need to scroll down with the mouse moving back & forth from the bar to the images - inevitably missing an image and deselecting them all again. Once more, is there an option that I'm not finding??
Thanks,
TN

I have a slightly different approach, but it might be helpful for you. I have a tablet based workflow (Wacom Intuos3 4x5). I have a Micrsoft keyboard with a large scroll wheel. I just hover my pen over the images and scroll with the wheel. When I see an image I just ctrl and click it with pen. If I was working with 500 images at a time, I would just use the stars rating and then select on the stars. Then you would never lose anything. Another approach that I use when I am assemblying a collection of images to process is to move them into the move-to folder. The Album function could also be used. 0 -
i just discovered this feature and it's one of those little things in v4 that make me love it again. If you have a bunch of images selected and accidentally click off and loose your selection, you can press ctrl+z (windows,, i guess cmd+z on mac??) and it will bring back up all your selected images!!! 😂 😄 You can then continue to select more images. 0 -
That's such a simple fix, thanks.
Here is my problem and need guidance for a fix if there is one right now. In the middle of a job, I would like to open up the primary folder in the library and create a "move to" or "output folder" without losing my place. Right now if I am on image 123 of 200 and decide I want a new "move to" folder, creating and tagging the folder takes me out of my working folder. Unless I right down which image I was on, then I am on a scan and search mission. A lot of wasted time. It would be nice if I could generate the necessary files and tag them using the right mouse button without affecting where I am in my work flow process. I am probably just missing something obvious but if not, any ideas?0 -
JBEhde, good question (IMHO).
I had not tried this before, but I noticed that when I right-click in the Library on a folder - to set it as Move To or Output folder - the selected image is lost. This is basically the problem you described.
One solution: you can change your Output folder from the Output tools tab as well. This does not loose your current selected image. For the Move To folder I do not have a solution.
Since I am primary working on Mac, I noticed that right-clicking on a folder in the Library and assigning it Output or Move To folder does not deselect the selected image. So this is a CO4/Win problem only.
I will raise a feature request with Phase One. They are still tweaking the interface anyway.0 -

Hello
How do You knew You are at 123/200?
That´s a big drawback, You easily lose Your navigation and have no support finding where You are.
You does not even get the total number of pictures!

Ehh, I do. In the Browser you can see 'x of y' where y total number of images in the folder and x the number of images selected (not the position like the 123rd of 200).
However, if you have the Browser beside instead of below, this information gets lost easily due to the small width of the Browser window (or column).
Fixing the Browser header is in a feature request I logged already.0 -
hello
tnx, but as You wrote, it can´t be seen if You have it to the left and it doesent show where You are.
And if You have the browser to the left, and selects all or several pictures, the down and up arrow stop working and You have to use left and right arrow.
So there a a few things that has to be fixed.
The status field doesent show process status etc

Ah, ctrl+z. I suppose that should be obvious but I never thought to check. Certainly didn't see it in the manual.
Thanks!0 -

Try page 70.
OK, not playing wise guy, not everything is in 'the manual'. Never mind the manual, focus on the program. Take 15 min. to open all menu's for a change. You will be surprised how much is in it (and you will never read about).
