Exactly - I've been saying this for years.
Unfortunately there seems to be a large or vocal group that wants to bypass Photoshop all together. Next they'll be adding photo frame presets and music for image galleries.
I'd like for Phase One to quit adding nonsense tools that have little function in a professional workflow. Tethering speed, export quality, UI responsiveness and stability are the most important features of C1P and they can always use improvement. Especially UI responsiveness and stability.0 -
No, I like my Raw converters to have some "touch up" features, not just color correction. Look at it this way, you shoot a Nikon D800, Very large image and file on disk. Now I want to touch up just a few blemishes. Export it as a 16bit tiff, uses about 180Meg on disk, go into photoshop, touch up a few places, now either import the file back into C07 (Which I say should have a check box to do that in the first place) or generate a file through photoshop. But just the simple trip to photoshop, takes an additional 180Meg of disk space, instead of just maybe at most a few Meg.
As much as I like CO7, I have given up on it. It does not support my new camera (Hasselblad), where LR and Aperture do, the others handle round trips to PS so much nicer. (Yes, I used CO7 for Photo Management, but having to re-import the images after an export just to get them to show up is really silly.)
I do think that CO7 has some real potential, it just that they put in so many artificial limitations.
1) Why a limit of 10 layer masks.
2) Why can't everything be done on a layer.
3) Why can't it have a check box to auto import a exported file.
4) Why if you don't have the Latest and Greatest hardware is it so slow, compared to both LR and Aperture.
Just a rant.

Amen to that! You just cannot have a good "have it all" software. You can't!0
