C++ runtime errors crashing C1Pro
I keep getting capture one shutting down and a warning dialogue of C++ runtime errors. can you tell me what is happening and what to do?
I can hardly process any of my P45 files.
I'm using the latest 3.74 Pro on XP
thanks,
paul

I have and identical problem running the same software, I have created a case on the 21st of April and still no joy.
This has rendered the P45 and raw conversions to virtually unassailable status.
We urgently need help
Thanks

Sami, please keep me posted if you get any answers, and I will do the same.
I am thinking of selling my P45 - there is simply no way to process the Raw files at present, which is ridiculous with a $28,000 investment.
windows users badly need some attention from Capture One, not promises of \"wait for 4.0\"...0 -
oh, and I am case 19040 if you want to cross reference. 0 -
Hi Paul,Will defiantly keep you posted I am case 18238

ACK!
got my reply: Phase One doesn't support windows x64, and as thats what I run they wont even tackle the issue.
I give up.
X64 has been out for more than a YEAR now, and they still wont look at it.
It's Windows only OS that supports greater than 4Gb ram, larger disk arrays than 2Tb, and works with the fastest 64bit processors. All of which are what a serious pro digital photographer needs. Apple has jumped from one OS revision to another and each one is supported immediately by Phase One. Just this year Apple switch code for Intel based machines and already its supported even though the desktop machines arent here yet. BUT -- after 14 months of x64, they wont touch it, and that's really shoddy.
Everything else I have works just fine - Color Calibration, all Adobe's Creative Suite, Raw Shooter Premium, Pro Raid Cards, Epson Printers, everything, except... Capture One. really its deeply frustrating.
I suppose I will have to sell my P45.0 -

It was not supprise when you have been apart of discussing this before:

We are very aware about the advantages with 64bit Windows and it will be supported in Capture One 4.0. we are working hard on this platform and when this is a completetely rewritten application it would not make sense to spend alot of resources to get current version working on 3.x and delay 4.x, instead we will spend majority of resources on 4.x
Leaf? They do not even have a Windows version of the software....0 -

Ulf,
Yes I know you are tardy in supporting Windows x64 release, (did you decide not to support Panther because Universal is coming in a year? no - you supported it right away) but many other people are using C1 on x64 without problems, so one lives in hope.
It didnt matter before because I could go and use another quality Raw converter for my 1Ds2 files. but with the P45 there simply is not choice for windows users - it has to be C1pro. so one is screwed if you have this expensive back and use x64.
I'm glad to hear that you are working on 4.0,but I've been hearing that since late 2005, and really we need something now...
If I can't find a workable solution in the next few weeks, I will just sell the back on EBay. it's all I can do.0 -

Ulf - It really is about time Phase One fixed this. I'm sorry, but you charge too much for the software to just ignore x64 users. We don't want a 64-bit version of C1, just a version that will run in 32-bit mode under x64. Every other Windows application I've tried, including Photoshop, does this without incident. I suspect you've got a problem with your C++ memory management code which can't cope with seeing more than 2GB of RAM - there's probably a counter rolling over somewhere. Would you please point one of your software people at this - it only needs a ten-minute fix, not a complete re-write of C1!

Firstly, I heartedly agree with the last comment. this is ridiculous - indeed nobody is asking for a total re-write, just someone to spend a day bug blasting to make this work. it really cant be a huge fix !
ok, secondly... I seem to have found something thats making it work for me.
things definitely got worse with 3.74 update, BUT I recently installed a Logitech (Keyboard/ Mouse) software update for x64, which had a package of the latest Microsoft x64 C++ redistributable software. That seems to have stabilised things.
It still has that annoying dialogue box at launch telling you C1 wont work with less than 128Mb ram (I have 12Gb on board - so ??) and its still not working on quad cores, so its way slower than need be, but I can get it to process now, which I couldn't do before. I do sometimes get erratic shut downs, but I can ghet most of my work done without too big a problem.
I recommend download and install the Logitech x64 drivers, simply to get x64 C++ runtime stabilised, and maybe we have a workaround.
