Sony RAW files and compression?

Hi there,
I have Capture One Pro 8.x.

I have 2 basic questions - I am considering a Sony A7R II, and I have read about the "Compressed RAW" 14 bit file format artifacts. I shoot a lot of unpleasant theatre lighting situations that involve a wide range of EV's, so I don't know how this plays out in real life. But I tend to push RAW files hard once in a while during unexpected light changes.

I also see that Phase One made a special Capture One for Sony:


Questions:

• Does the special Capture One for Sony Cameras do anything my C1 Pro does not?[/*:3lz1qpai]
  
• Do C1 Pro Sony owners see "Compressed RAW 14 bit file" artifacts like people using Adobe Camera Raw?[/*:3lz1qpai]

  how about downloading a raw file and trying yourself with C1 (trial mode or if you have full blown 8.x Pro then it works with Sony raws already) ?

  I have the Sony A7r myself and have used it with CO1 for a year or so. I don't think the downsides of Sony's lossy raw compression will be seen in the context of pushing shadows or shifting exposure in general, but are more likely to be seen in extreme contrast edges combined with extreme exposure pushing. In any case, although I don't particularly like Sony's compulsory compression, I have not seen the negative side effects in any shot in CO1. Lens defects like CA's, purple fringing, bokeh fringing, have far, far greater impact on image quality than Sony's lossy raw compression.
  Sony's 3200,- camera without an option for saving images in lossless RAW is a strange phenomenon, but in my experience, the practical impact is hardly there.

  Nope. It's the same download file.
  
  Express for Sony is a cut down version. Less functionality and Catalogs only. And it's free.
  
  Pro for Sony works only with Sony cameras (and for Sony only camera users comes with a lower upgrade price than full Pro.)
  
  C1 Pro covers everything that is available at the time of release except for the features that are specific to special products like Cultural Heritage.

  The single image (at various ISO's) posted in today's article is interesting, but not compelling / representative enough evidence to figure out the answer about something like @Chris is able to offer from experience using Capture One.
