    Hi dwl
I had this message too. In my case it was where a small jpg image less than 512 tall or wide had been imported with existing keywords via a sidecar file. These files were from old b&w scanned photos from my parents. Some photos were barely larger than a passport size hence the small pixel size. They were previously managed within Aperture. When I raised the support case the guy said they'd built in this limit never expecting such small files.

My only question is why build in this limit in the first place? It's only more code to test and/or go wrong.

So until this restriction is lifted I am left with a keyword structure that I cannot tidy up by deleting or even moving.

I hear you....I had opened a support case (feature request), requesting that they either allow keywords on uneditable files (eg small dimension wise images or videos) or automatically assign them an arbitary keyword as "uneditable". My reasoning was slightly different to yours - When looking for images without keywords, i had a few hundred of these and hence was having trouble finding other images which i legitamately didn't have keywords on.

Anyway - they took it on and passed to their R&D team for investigation for possible future feature. The latest regression however has me waiting for a fix so I can cleanup keywords.
