In terms of my workflow, Mediapro is the center:
shooting in import MediaPro indexing, I use WIC (except for Leica dng), then right click, C1 treatment. I manages a master catalog of over 50,000 images.
I do not understand what can I use the catalog mode in Capture One. It does me no good, I remain in session mode.
That's where I am after months of misery ...

I am like you in many ways - except that I have also integrated Lightroom 4 into my flow. I prefer the way LR initially imports files and renames them vs Media Pro. Once they are on my hard drive, I start Media Pro and "update" the folder structure where I had LR put the files. This seems to work all the time; and is fast as I use WIC to render the images using the codecs I bought from FastPictureViewer.
I then sort, rate, add all my key words. I have recently updated my hierarchical keywords.
I then open only smaller groups of higher rated files in a sessions mode of CO 7.
I will later rebuild only these files using the CO engine in Media Pro.

If I have a larger shoot to deal with, say 200 or more photos, I'll first open a new catalog in MP which is smaller and which "saves" faster than my "all photos" catalog. After I'm finished, I'll update the main catalog.

BTW, my primary "all photos" catalog is over 70,000 photos.

I also like your idea of separate forums for Mac and Windows users. After reading many of the posts here, I get the sense that the types of problems are quite different and depend a lot on the OS platform.

Given the difficulties faced by users of Window Mediapro, it seems to me that it would be useful to separate the forum Mediapro in mac and window such as CaptureOne.

I imagine there are pros and cons to either approach but I prefer one forum. I use a Mac but I don't own Media Pro. I read the forum to keep informed about all developments in the software and it's just easier for me to keep track of one list of posts.

I would tend to agree with you if most of the discussion centered around the use of Media Pro, how best to use keywords, sorting, etc.
However most of the discussion tends to be on problems with the software, and those appear very OS dependent.

With a few hundred of topics in all these years i reccon two different forums is overkill.
