Hang after several minutes use
I'm on 1.4.2 on a Mac running 10.6.8. The system in general is running perfectly. I have 16GB of RAM and my only catalogue is 1.07GB. It references over 100k of photos. Up until a month ago, all was well. Nothing has changed of which I'm aware, but now the catalogue hangs after a few minutes of use. I've monitored it in Activity Monitor and from the moment it's open, over 200% of the CPU gets used. If I open a new catalogue with few photos in it, it seems to have no issues. So it seems like my primary catalogue is not doing so great.
My question is: other than reverting to backup (which means lost work), do I have any other options to get this catalogue back inline?
Thanks,
Phil

My experience is on a Windows system. But with a large catalog (mine is ~75k images) I preach patience.
My will occasionally hang with a "not responding".
I find that if I wait it out without trying to click on something or change something, it (almost) always comes back. I have no idea where it was.
As a result, I use a small catalog when I process those photos with Capture One, sending them to a session.
Have you tried just letting it hang for a few hours?0
