Where is photo adjustments stored?

Where does CaptureOne store the adjustment made to a Nikon nef-file? Like if I change the whitebalance, where is that information stored?

Reason for asking, is that I would like to backup my work, AND be able to restore it again.

Also, I plan on upgrading to 4.0. Do 4.0 store these adjustments the same way?

I run CaptureOne LE 3.7.7 (SanDisk license) on WinXP SP2.

I dont know the right tech-terms for phrasing this question, so I find it hard to search on. Please forgive me, if this has been asked over and over 😄

4.0 is a bit different - it holds it edits in the CaptureOne folder- which is already located in the designated collection/library folder that holds the following: RAW images> Cache and Settings. Keep the settings intact with the RAWs as a collection and you can restore it for later use in 4.0 version.
