While you wait for a solution into COne (I don't have the same issue as you …)
You may batch your exported files with Light Room 2 with sharpening only

    Just a thought…

Earlier versions of C1 4 applied sharpening incorrectly on low res files and in such a way that it did not mach the viewer. This has been fixed for some time in subsequent releases (though they require OSX 10.5).

Well, I'll have to wait for Snow Leopard then.

That's my next OS upgrade. 3 months to go.

Until then I'll do some sharpening on the JPEGs using an old copy of Lightroom 1.41 (which I only use for web gallery creation) to add some crude Lightroom sharpening.

PS: has the unuseable proof gallery of CO 4.1.1 been improved as well in later updates?

Then I could finally sell my Lightroom copy.

Slightly off the topic, but I'll assume you have an Intel Mac (Snow Leopard does not support G5/G4 Macs). If not you better buy a copy of Leopard as long they are available.
