Expanding OpenCL support?
Hi there,
My laptop / tablet PC will eventually have an OpenCL driver for it from Intel (I have the HD 3000 chipset). They are building drivers for it right now.

So, is the support in CaptureOne for OpenCL going to be a CaptureOne issue, or is it more like a Windows-level issue and CaptureOne just uses it (like using CODECs to read RAW files)?
I read the list of supported GPUs but I wasn't quite clear if PhaseOne was specifically enabling these GPUs, or if my GPU would one day "just work"?
Thanks,
TTFN

It's a little bit of both actually.
The card itself needs to support OpenCL and the OS needs the drivers to allow use of the cards potential. However, the card needs to meet some requirements for it to make sense for Capture One to use it. If the card meets our requirements (1GB onboard RAM) then we can take a closer look to see if implementation is possible and add support in a future update.0 -
Ah, OK... if it requires 1GB of onboard RAM, then no notebook is going to meet that.
It's way better than previous onboard chipsets (all things considered) and is found in both PC's and Macs:

I do a lot of mobile processing. Each version of Intel's drivers seem to get faster.
I'm also hoping the "pen pressure sensitivity" will get better too (mine is a Lenovo X220t tablet with an IPS screen and built in Wacom tablet - it's like a Cintiq).
Thanks!

You would be surprised. Don't know for Windows based notebooks, but on Macs it is standard on 15 and 17" models (in addition to Intel HD 3000 graphics).0 -
It's dedicated? That's cool... I know it can dynamically gobble up what it wants, but I didn't know it would actually have anything dedicated beyond what the Sandy Bridge would give it from the L2 Cache!
Awesome!0
