number of files
I have moved my browser to the right side. In earlier versions above the browser C1 showed me the number of files in the browser. That number is no longer there. How do I change settings to put that number back up above the browser?

Vaughn,
I noticed the apparent omission a while back but I changed the of the "column" and the numbers appeared and seem to have stayed ever since. (7.1.1 by the way).
I assumed it might be something to do with trying to control what can display in a very small horizontal space at the top of the narrow window - but now changing the width makes no difference - the numbers are still there.
I can't think of anything else I have changed (not much!) that might have had any effect on whether of not the numbers are displayed. I suppose one other possibility is that the import is not complete for some reason and so the numbers are as yet "unknown" but that is not something I have looked for - I usually have the browser at the bottom of the screen.

I have experimented a little more.
If the Browser column is not wide some of the available features will not fit.
Normally any "extras" that cannot be displayed are available to be listed using a small button on the right of the window's menu display. On my system clicking that will display an empty grey box. The size of the box varies inversely to the width of the column. If the column is over a certain width where everything available is visible (or should be) there is no button displayed.
On my system the largest of the non-displayed options is the Name search available in the browser. If I display the browser column as a very wide column the name search will appear along with everything else and the "extras" button disappears. If I then slowly reduce the width of the column at some point the tools in the shrinking toolbar are squeezed and start to disappear. Notably the count information (a display rather than a tool) starts to disappear and the sort icon changes. If I continue to reduce the width of the column the Name search disappears, the count info re-appears and "extras" button become available (but empty). If I then continue to reduce the width the number information starts to disappear until such time as the Search tool is removed from the display (reduced to a single magnifying glass icon) leaving space for the count info to be visible once more.
(Not the most correctly termed description I am sure but hopefully it can be followed.)
The width at which this phenomenon occurs is quite specific - I missed it several times when I first looked at it again. I would guess it maybe a variable anyway based on language considerations. It is, I suppose, possible that additional factors, screen resolution for example, are involved in the software's decision making processes so results may be different from installation to installation.
If you see the same results then I think we have found a small error that can be reported but that seems to have an easy avoidance option.

Thank you both. I made the column just a bit wider and voila, the number of files.
